This year, in California, there is a proposition that allegedly would achieve a "fair" panel to handle redistricting of state senatorial and U.S. House districts.
Fair? I would debate that. In past years, when Tom DeLay was the republic czar in the House, texas manipulated new districts to give republic candidates six or seven more seats in the United States House of Representatives. I give them no quarry. You republics have crossed the line. Not tea baggers, but just regular republics.
Thus, in California, why should we go fair? Why should we make ourselves a shining light in the darkness that is politics? No reason. No reason at all.
California should not vote to give a fair panel the auspices to re-create congressional districts. Until right-wing wacko states like Texas (and all of the South) agree to fair redistricting, there should be no redistricting at all. Particularly in California, the most populous state in the union.
Genome! Genome! Geez. I got a lot to say!
